In support of Professor Om Shankar, who was fasting to demand the fourth and half fifth floor of the superspeciality block for heart patients in BHU, the youth stood in the Ganga and played thali. Also, students conducted a signature campaign outside Vishwanath temple. On Tuesday, members of Bhim Army, Father Anand arrived to extend their support to the professor.
Prof. Omshankar, who was on hunger strike in the cardiology department, said that under the right to health, patients should get better testing and treatment facilities. The surprising thing is that IMS Director Prof. SN Sankhwar had given a written letter on March 25 to give the fourth floor and half of the fifth floor of SSB, but the patients have not got the place till now. The hunger strike will continue until the demands are met.
Amar, Mohit, Mahendra, Maruti, Mukul, Rishikesh were present in the signature campaign. Under the leadership of SP leader Aman Yadav, the youth stood in the Ganga in Ramnagar and protested by playing plates and pots. Officers’ meeting held at Vice Chancellor’s residence
